Another Major Flood Threat?

You may think that the worst of the flooding is over with now, but I wouldn't be so sure about that. Another moisture filled storm will be making its way over towards Ohio by this weekend. A steady, heavy rain is expected for the majority of the day Saturday. Rainfall amounts could exceed 3" in some areas, especially in the western portions of the region. This could lead to even worse flooding then yesterday (Rainfall is almost twice as much as that storm!), and on top of the high waters we're seeing now, it could be a very nasty situation. I'm also monitoring the threat of a secondary low forming and giving the area more precipitation (Rain/Snow/Ice are all possibilities) which could add to the problems.

A look at computer model forecasts confirms my thoughts. Both the GGEM and ECMWF give Western Ohio a widespread area of 2-5" of rainfall. The GFS also gives Western Ohio 2"+, with less as you go to the east.

I will continue to monitor this potential storm in the next few days, and will try to update as much as possible.
